1. Reduce your tax bill or claim a refund of tax for 2009
The 31st of October provides an opportunity to reduce the amount of tax that was paid (PAYE Employees) or is due to be paid (Self Employed) for 2009.
Investing a lump sum into a new or existing pension plan provides a tax refund (PAYE Employees) or a tax saving (Self Employed) of up to a maximum of 41% and a PRSI/Health Levy saving of up to 9%.

Self Employed have until the 16th of November to avail of this.
