Pat has over 20 years’ experience as a financial planning professional. Before setting up Smart Finance Pat held a senior advisory role in Canada Life and completed a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree. The knowledge and experience gained were the ideal foundation for providing advice to a wide range of personal and business clients.
When setting up Smart Finance, Pat wanted to provide a holistic financial planning service to address all of his client’s needs. This aim has led to the development of a tailored approach to financial planning and a clear focus to work with clients to create plans that can be reviewed and updated as they move through various stages of their lives.
Attention to detail, good listening skills and great empathy are symbols of appreciation by his clients. Pat takes great pride from this and provides his clients with expert financial planning advice and solutions as well as driving awareness of the financial planning profession through his membership on the board of the Society of Financial Planners Ireland (SFPI).
Pat believes that the provision of superior level of advice and service is enhanced by education and continuous professional development. After qualifying as a Qualified Financial Adviser QFA in 2001 he completed the Professional Diploma in Retirement Planning and is a proud recipient of the internationally recognised CFP® accreditation (Certified Financial Planner) and a Masters in Financial Planning from UCD.
Pat is happily married to Sandra and has two sons, Eoin and Cillian. Away from business, he has a keen interest in current affairs and enjoys golf and reading and spending time with his family.
